The design concept revolves around the public and private spaces being separated by two courtyards, the circulation corridor acts as the only connection for the segregation of these spaces. These two courtyards are designed as the major design elements, functioning as light wells and ventilation wells for the house, hence allowing the house to be illuminated with natural day light. As a conscious design intention, the lentils for all the openings within the house are kept at the same height from the floor level up, providing a consistently pleasant view of the views looking outwards or inwards into the house

The house includes a drawing room, dining area and a family lounge as their public spaces. Bedrooms, a pottery workshop, gym, study, library, accompanied by the kitchens and bathrooms as their private spaces within the residence.

The client’s brief visualized a residence where nature played a integral role in the lives of the residents. Keeping the client’s requirements in mind, r+d studio designed a house where natural light and natural ventilation were deciding factors for the layout of the spaces within the house.
